A new 3D project from the Silhouette Cameo Online Store by Jennifer Rush. It's called Hibiscus Flower Lantern and it's image #135875. I made mine just like she suggested with vellum and white card stock and it is stunning. I'm anxious to try it in some different colors of card stock but I'll keep the vellum because I like the luminescent look it creates.
Jennifer has a full tutorial on her web site that you can go to HERE.
Jennifer's tutorial was a little hard to see the pictures so I'll share how I laid out the pieces. I wanted to use 8.5 x 11 card stock for this project so that is how I laid it out.
These are the pieces I cut from vellum from Stampin' Up!. I really like the vellum from Stampin' Up! because it has a good weight to it. The blade setting I used was 4, thickness 33 and a double cut. You need two set of these.
These are the pieces you would cut from alternate color. For mine I used Whisper White from Stampin' Up!
When lifting the white pieces from the mat you will want to be careful. I lifted the edge of the petals first gently peeling them up, next I lifted the center piece of the petal up and away from the smaller parts that come out from the center and lastly I lifted the smaller petal centers toward the middle of the entire piece.

I could see a cluster of these on a mirror tile as a centerpiece they are really lovely. Be sure to check out Jennifer's other designs in the Silhouette Store.
