Thinking ahead to next fall when it will be time for our Soroptimist club to start meeting again and we will need favors to hand out when we recognize club member's birthdays. I've been making different favors for several years now and because I like to think ahead I have already picked out and prepared the ones we will use this fall.
These are the ones I made last year. You can see more details HERE Each piece of cake held a piece of candy inside.
The year before were these cute candle boxes that held a "healthy" granola bar.
So, continuing with the box idea I saw this really cute file by Lori Whitlock called 3D Cupcake Tote it is item #26045 in the Silhouette store. All of Lori's designs are really well put together and easy to make. Check out her blog to see more of her designs.
I cut the file just as it was without any alterations. I did put the design on both the front and the back instead of on just one side which is what Lori did but that is just a matter of taste. The tote measures 3.25" wide at the top by 3.5" tall overall.
Materials Used:
- Rose Red, Whisper White, So Saffron and the NEW Flirty Flamingo card stock from Stampin' Up!
- Designer Paper from Floral Fair paper stack found at Joann's Fabric & Craft store
- Printable Clear Sticker paper from Silhouette
I found a cute birthday print and cut image in the Silhouette store and printed it on the clear sticker paper also from Silhouette. It was so easy to print, cut, peel and stick these on the front of each tote. The image is by Silhouette item#11576 and is called Happy Birthday.
What's a tote without something inside? A little something sweet. For this I purchased some Hershey nuggets and wrapped them with a cute birthday balloon design. I found the design on the internet and used my label making program to fill a 1 x 2 5/8 address label, Avery 8160. These labels work perfectly for wrapping the nuggets.
Pretty cute huh?
I'm sure these will be a big hit for next year. After all, who doesn't like a little bit of chocolate in a pretty cupcake themed tote!
Enjoy
