I shared yesterday that I was looking for some fun folds for cards. I found this one and I call it a "Fun Fold Flip Card". Originally it was designed to be a 5" square card but I prefer to make A2 cards which are 4.25 x 5.5 and fit in a standard envelope so I resized it so that it would. The finished card closed is 4.25" square.
Read on for a tutorial on how you can make this even if you don't have a Silhouette, which is sad, but that's okay. If you do have a Silhouette you'll be able to find out how you can get the file I created to make this card using that wonderful machine at the end of this tutorial.

I have a tutorial here for you with measurements and instructions: For a better view of the photos you can click on them to see them full size.
These are all the pieces for making the card
This is the inside piece. Cut 2x4 inches. On one end cut out the center leaving two 3/8" wide tabs. Fold this piece as shown, don't fold the two little tabs
The base piece is 4.25x8.5, Use the second to largest Square Framelit to cut the window out of the center of the front of the card, save this piece you will use it later
Attach the inside piece you folded to the right edge of the base card. It is designed to leave a 1/8" border. Be sure to check that everything is lined up before the glue dries. TIP: I used Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky Glue for this because there is tension on this piece and double sided tapes don't always hold well long term.
Once the glue has set fold the inside piece down and put glue on the two tabs. Again I used Aleene's
Then just close the front of the card over the tabs and hold till glue sets.
This is the inside of the card with everything attached
This is a front view
Now to add the first layer that will be the front of the card, lay the closed card down and add glue to the area of the inside piece that you can see. This works great for getting perfect alignment. Take the piece you cut out with the framelit which is 3.25 sqaure and simple fit it into the window.
Next insert layer two which is a contrasting or coordinating color or DSP, here I used Tangerine Tango. This piece is 3 1/8 square which will leave a 1/16" border all around. I just used two sided tape to attach this piece
On the inside, far right section attach a layer, this piece measures 1 7/8" x 3 7/8", again I used double sided tape to attach
This is what the card looks like once those steps are done.
The last two pieces are the art pieces. These measure 1 3/4"x3 3/4" inches for the rectangle, 3" square for the other. I stamped the images from Birthday Blooms onto Whisper White card stock with Momento Black Ink and colored them with blender pens using So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Old Olive and Always Artichoke inks. Once colored I attached them with double sided tape. The large flower on the square piece doesn't totally fit, I turned it diagonal to get as much of the image onto the art piece as I could. It still looks beautiful.
And again here is the finished card.
Now, if you don't want to have to figure all this out and you have a Silhouette Cameo. I have created a cut file for this card with all the pieces ready to go and you can get that file by sharing this post to your facebook page and letting me know that you've done that by tagging me in your post (katespapercreations) and I will send it off to you FREE.
