I wanted to find a very simple flower that could be used with the clients at a nearby Alzheimer's unit. I found just what I needed in the Silhouette Store. The Sweet Blossom Bouquet, item #76539 by Pebbles In My Pocket. It is just a simple flat daisy with a colored center that fits over a straw.

Super easy to make and super cute too! I bought bendy straws, you know the kind with the flex at one end so that I could make the flowers face out instead of just straight up and it worked perfectly.

Next was how to display them. I decided a box with a lid would work best and I would just put holes in the top to insert the straws through. I pulled the 3D Star Party Favor Box item #29803 by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette store. I took the stars out and added the daisy shape in different sizes to go with the flowers. Then I added 6 holes to the top of the box for the straws.

Here is a tip: I had to resize everything to make it the size I wanted. I needed to resize the straw holes on the flower and then used the same size for the top of the box. Once you have the correct size straw hole keep it separate until you have the flower just the size you want and then put the hole back and use the centering tool to place it. Otherwise if you resize the flower with the hole still in the center it will resize too and it won't be the right size you need it to be. And, of course every brand of straw is a different diameter. Another Tip: When you put your own shapes in the sides of the box remember to allow for the flaps that glue to the inside or you will have flaps covering a portion of your cut outs.

Here is the finished product. Pretty, cute and easy to make. I'm sure they will enjoy this craft.
Thanks for stopping by.
