Are you ready for this? I was hosting a workshop yesterday and we were making this card.
Super easy ans super fun. The art piece panel is made using glossy photo paper and Versamark ink. To make it you just stamp the image onto the glossy card stock with versamark which creates a resistance to the ink. Then, use a sponge to rub ink over the entire front of the piece. I used circular motions to do that. Then take a piece of tissue and wipe off the ink that doesn't stick to the images and viola' you have your art piece background. Cool huh?!
The butterflies are punched out using the new Butterflies Thinlits from Stampin' Up! But I have to tell you I learned something from one of my customers today. I may be a little slow and you probably already know this little trick but it was new to me so I just had to share. (Just in case you haven't tried it before - wink)
Sometimes using those thinlits can be a little frustrating, you know, trying to get the intricate pieces out of the die. Well, here is the trick. Dryer Sheets. Yes, you read that right. Take a new dryer sheet like bounce or whatever and add it to your sandwich when running the thinlit through your Big Shot. Here is the recipe:
- Magnetic Platform
- Clear Cutting plate
- dryer sheet
- card stock
- thinlit cutting side down
- Top Clear Cutting Plate
Run it through. When you lift the thinlit from the plate the card stock will literally fall out of the die along with most if not all of the pieces. How cool is that? Try it and let me know how it works for you.
Enjoy!
