Kate's Paper Creations

Marji Roy posted on Facebook today her two newest shadow boxes.  She has designed many and they are all beautiful.  These two are Sunset and Moonrise and I couldn't wait to make them.  You can purchase her files HERE.

I don't make items to sell so I decided I could "borrow" some pictures on line and use them as the backgrounds.  I wanted a more "realistic" look than using paper could produce.  Once I found a picture I like for each I printed them on photo paper so the image was high quality and I adjusted them to work like I wanted them to.

I tried to capture how wonderful they look.

Each year I am on the look out for new ideas for Birthday Favors.  I enjoy making them and giving them to others on their special day.  I make a lot for my Soroptimist Club and church friends.  

When I saw this idea on Pinterest I saved it and recently duplicated the look using my Silhouette Cameo.

I used a file labled Cake Box and I have no info on it at all.  I liked it because it was just two pieces, one for the box bottom and one for the top.  I added a strip to make it look like a layered cake and I found a 3D flower and some leaves in my Silhouette library.  

I added some color to the edges of the flowers, curled the petals with my bone folder and added a rhinestone center.

A friend then gave me a cake pedestal to set them on which makes it all look even more elegant.  I can't wait to start sharing these, I'm sure everyone will enjoy them.
