I'm still making my way through the Winter 2014 Cardmaker magazine. On page 40 there is a lovely fall wreath card made using . It looks so lovely I decided to CASE it by making a larger version using my Silhouette Cameo Ecutter. You can see the card is this video by clicking HERE.
I like the die so I bought it and brought the images into my Silhouette Cameo tracing them so I could enlarge them. These dies emboss and cut so to simulate the embossing I made the lines on the leaves into dash lines.
This added a little "texture" to the leaves.
The base of the wreath is cut from Cajun Craze card stock by Stampin' Up! To make the base I traced the outer edge of the wreath die then placed a circle in the center so the middle would cut out.
Doing this gave me more background to attach the individual leaves to and made the end product more sturdy.
I then cut an entire wreath out of sparkly light orange Core'dinations card stock and attached it to the base.
Then it was just a matter of cutting multiple single leaves and attaching them around the wreath. Some are glued flat others are attached using Stampin' Dimensionals to add some depth.
I added some gold sequins for just a little sparkle.
To make the bow I combined several colors of Bakers Twine and some Linen Thread.
I like it, it was fun to make. It makes all the dies I own so much more versatile when I can duplicate them in the Silhouette. The original is still very useful too but It's fun to make different things with them.
