I'm really feeling fall aren't you? Well maybe not depending on where you live. Part of why I'm making Christmas and fall cards is because the Holiday catalog from Stampin' Up! goes live on August 28th and as a demonstrator I get to pre-order and start making things to tempt you all with. BWG
So, I saw the idea for this card on Splitcoaststampers and liked it so well I had to CASE it and share it with you. You can see the original on Michele Reynolds blog.
Michele used a technique she called "thumping" to color the Seasonally Scattered Thanks stamp. I've done this to stamps before but I never had a name for it. A couple of years ago Stampin' Up! had a beautiful fall wreath stamp that I used this technique on.
So let me describe "thumping". You take your stamp and stamp it on a light colored ink pad - for my card I used So Saffron. Then you take markers and randomly add flecks of color. I used Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. After adding the flecks of color you breath on it to re-moisten the ink and stamp it. It's that simple and it leave you with a gorgeous multi-color image.
Here is my version:
The pumpkins and the leaves are from the Fall Fest stamp set. I cut them out on my Silhouette but if you don't have a Silhouette you can use the Fun Fall Framelits in the Holiday catalog or cut them out by hand.
