I'm back to a Silhouette Cameo card and making a little bit of it my own. I saw a card on a blog called KittyKraft She uses dies from Impression Obsession and makes some really incredible cards. I've started following her blog and have been bitten by the bug and placed an order for some of the dies she uses. However, as you know I am always looking for ways to put my Silhouette to work for me and I really liked Kitty's card and thought I would see what I could do using just my Silhouette Cameo.
I put together the background layer myself. I did that by setting up a 5.25 x 4 rectangle. Then, I made a small square and fit three across. Using the align tool I made sure they were even across the top and were spaced even horizontally. Next, I grouped them and made 17 rows of three and again used the align tool to evenly space them vertically. Once that was all done I grouped them and then sized the whole group to fit on my rectangle keeping the ratio when I resized it. I love that align tool! It helps so much when making things.
To finish the card I went to my library and picked out the following shapes:
- Set of 5 Vases by Alaa'K #8319
- Flower Swag SEI #8365
- Branches with Berries House of 3 # 5501
And the Stampin' Up! materials list:
- Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set
- Stamp -a-ma-Jig
- Pearls
- Early Espresso marker, Bermuda Bay ink pad
- Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Always Artichoke card stock
- Stampin' Dimensionals
The vase I just picked one I liked the shape of and sized it to fit the card. On the first card I just added a bow. On the second card I used a sponge dauber to ink the edges of the vase which gives it a more "rounded" appearance. I rolled the vase over my finger and then attached it to the card with one Stampin' Dimensional in the middle so it would curve a little at the edges. To get the design on the vase I stamped tone on tone using the Bermuda Bay ink on the Bermuda Bay card stock. The Stamp-a-ma-Jig allowed me to place the design perfectly so it looked just right.
On the branches I cut them out of Always Artichoke card stock and then colored the stem portions with the Early Espresso marker.
The flowers are actually cut from adhesive backed cardstock from Silhouette. In the first picture I just colored the centers on the second version I added the little pearls.
When building the card I put a couple of branches in the vase first attaching them by the lower portion of the stem only so that the tops would lift off the card a bit. I then stuck the flowers on and then added another branch over the top which gives more depth to the bouquet.
After completing the vase and flowers I attached the lattice layer to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Here is the first version:
