Good Day to You! I'm excited to share my latest project with you. I designed the Egg Shaped Easter Basket! Yes, it is a totally original design. I made it from scratch nothing was borrowed or redesigned to make it. I am building a library of designs that I have made. So far there are only about 10 things in the file but the list is going to keep growing. To design this one I used the point editing tool and the knife tool in my Silhouette Cameo software. There are a lot of things you can do with the knife tool if you go to Clever Someday blog you can learn more.
Once I got the basket designed I was ready to begin embellishing it and for that I used shapes already in my library. Some of them I altered, mostly just the size of them. Here is a list of the designs I used to embellish my basket:
- Flower 2857 by Rivka Williams
- Chick with Bow 8280 Sarah Bailey
- Bunny with Bow 8281 Sarah Bailey
- Ribbon Bow Set 12953 Alaa'K
- Flower 2159 Silhouette
- Flower Pop Up 2020 Silhouette
The Flower 2857 I used just the center of the flower.
The Chick and the Bunny I used just the head and pieces with the "hands"
The Flower 2159 I used the leaves only and I added a cut line up the middle of each leaf to give it more dimension and make it easier to fold and shape
The Flower Pop Up 2020 I just re-sized and then once it was cut I used a marker to color the thin edges and centers to make them stand out a little more.
The Ribbon Bow Set 12953 I re-sized a bit, then removed the cut out sections and created an offset so I could layer it and add some dimension. I put the bow together with just a glue dot at the center so I could curl the edges of the bow and tails.
After attaching the embellishments I added some pearls and rhinestones for a little bling.
** A tip for you. If you're making this make sure when assembling the basket that you match the front to the back. The shapes are mirrored so even if you're using double sided paper you will be able to assemble correctly.
The overall size of the basket is 8" tall by 6" wide by 1" deep. Just enough room for some easter grass and a couple of small treats.
It turned out so stinkin' cute! I hope you like it too. Please leave me a comment I'd love to hear from you. If you leave a comment I will send you my Egg Shaped Easter Basket file to use in your Silhouette Studio.
Wish me luck I'm going to enter this creation in the . Check out other entries to see what wonderful things are being shared.
