I have a friend who works and teaches at a school and she needed something to put up on her plain walls to dress up the class room a bit. We all know that teachers don't have a lot of extra time to do this kind of thing so she came to me and asked me if I would help.
This is one of the boards I made for her room. I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo and the Printable Canvas from Silhouette.
I liked how it looked once it was done. By filling in the letters with a printable design I was able to color coordinate the entire design. The color scheme started with some colored masking tape I had that I used for the bottom border and wanted to match.
It's so easy to fill a design with a digital pattern. The Silhouette has a few already in the program and you can add more. I have a huge inventory of digital backgrounds that I have for my digital scrapbooking projects and I just open the folder with the color scheme I'm looking for and then just drag and drop the design into the shape.
Then you can move the fill image around in your shape by going to the Advanced Options in the Fill Tool and selecting the "Pan" option. This will place a little circle with cross hairs in it on the image on your work surface. Left click and hold and you can move the background around inside the image. This comes in handy if you're doing something with a scene and you want a particular part of the background to show or not show.
I have some other projects I did for her room I'll be sharing over the next few days.
Enjoy!
