A new desgin in the Silhouette Cameo library "Dove with a Valentine Envelope" item 53491 by Snapdragon Snippets caught my eye today. I'm still in Valentine mode. One thing it immediately brought to my mind was a song that has been sung by many artists through the years, "On The Wings of a Snow White Dove". The chorus goes like this:
"On the wings of a snow white dove
God sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above
On the wings of a dove"
I am a person of faith, I believe in God and in Jesus Christ as my Savior so I just had to have this design in my library too.
I made it using Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Raspberry Ripple and Strawberry Crush card stock. I just colored the eye on with a black marker. The design is layered so I used the Slate Gray ink and a dauber to add just a very light bit of color to the top layer of the wings and around the head so they would stand out a bit better. I also only used adhesive in the center so that the wing layers could separate a bit.
If you are into doves you can, of course, leave the valentine off and just make the bird. If you make it without resizing it measures almost 7 inches across but it is such a simple design that sizing it down should be really easy and if you wanted to make it to fit in an evelope I think you could.
