Welcome Back! I wanted to share some more on how I organize when I receive my pre-order from the latest Stampin'Up! catalog. I ordered quite a few sets and bundles fromt the Holiday Catalog and I like to get everything in order so I can begin creating projects. I know you are going to go gaga over all the bundles that are offered in the new catalog and when you get them you'll want to access them quickly and easily so read on for tips on how I keep track of my new sets.
Yesterday I shared how I prepare the stamp sets now I'll share about embossing folders.
Step One: As you know they come in plastic bags and I don't like that. I also don't like to have them filed in a drawer so I take them out of the bags and put them in the Standard Stamping Cases you can order through Stampin' Up! OR if they won't fit into a standard stamp case I have designed a box to put them in as you can see in the picture. The box is made using my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.
Step Two: I slide the picture of the folder into the front of the case. Or, I will cut it out and attach it to the front of the box it is in.
Step Three: I use my label maker to put a label on the spine of the case or the box that has the name of the folder and the catalog it originated in.
Step Four: Lastly I place the boxes on my copier and make a copy of the picture on the front and that gets filed in my "catalog" of items I own. As I shared yesterday that is simply a 3 ring binder with page sleeves that I can slip the images into. This catalog sits on a shelf near my work station and I can easily pull it out and look through it for ideas of what background, stamp or die I might to use for any project I am creating.
Once all that is done I am ready to put my embossing folders on the shelf in alphabetical order.
This system works really well for me. It might work for you too. If you think you might give it a try let me know. I am also willing to answer any quesitons you may have about my system.
If you want to use this system and need the larger boxes I create with my Cameo I wil sell you the box pieces cut out and ready to easily assemble for $2.50 or I will sell you the box file for your Silhouette Cutting Machine, I use version 4, for $2.00 because there is no postage or materials involved it is a little less.
I hope you enjoyed your visit today. Come back tomorrow as I share what I do with the die sets. I think you'll be excited to see the process.
