Good Morning! As some of you know I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and June is our Annual Catalog Release. Every year when the new catalog comes out I re-evaluate my craft room. Parting with some things I don't want anymore and making a place for all the new stuff I am planning to purchase. He He!
I keep my Embossing Folders, Framelits, Thinlits in Standard Stamp Cases on a shelf.
I like it this way. I have them in alphabetical order and I put my own labels on the spine with a label maker so I can read what it is at a glance. I also put a picture of the folder in a "catalog" where I can look through to find just the one I want and then pull it off the shelf to use. I'll share my catalogs at another time.
The standard size folders fit perfectly into their standard stamp cases.
I put the cover with the picture on it into the plastic sleeve on the cover and add the label to the spine.
Found on page 183 of the new 2016-17 catalog item#119105 you get 4 for $6.00
But, last year Stampin' Up! introduced the 6x6 embossing folders. They don't fit into the standard cases. Sigh! So I looked high and low for a case that would work to no avail. I didn't want to come up with a different system for storage at this point so....
Silhouette Cameo to the rescue! I used my Silhouette Cameo software to design a box that would hold the folders.
A bottom box with a lid that slides over the bottom. I cut the image of the folder from the insert and attached it to the front of the box.
Then I made a label for the spine
Then onto the shelf they go. Now they stick out a little further than the other cases but that's okay. It still works very nicely!
I also like having my room look pretty as well as functional so I had my dear hubby build me a bakers rack for my room which is where I put those folders I've been talking about as well some other things.
Way cool, huh?
Thanks for stopping by.
