Looking for another centerpiece to finish out the year for my club meetings I came across this Eiffel Tower by Jennifer Wambach item #26673 in the Silhouette online store. In original layout the finished product measures about 7" tall. I enlarged the one I made to fit on 12 by 12 copper glitter card stock. This made my finished tower 11.5" tall. A nice size for a centerpiece.
I wanted to "light" it up too and I tried placing a simple tea light under the tower but it looked ugly just sitting there so I made a box to enclose the tea light so that the light shown up through the tower. I used the 3D Flower Green Box by StudioIlustrado item #45834 in the online store. I deleted the flower and resized the box to 1.5" square then put a 1.25 circle in the lid so the tealight could be set inside and the light would shine up. I also made the box out of the same copper glitter card stock that the tower was made from.
The tower by itself really looks great. It was extremely easy to put together too. I used Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky glue and it held perfectly even on the glitter surface. When I cut out the pieces I used a blade setting of 6 and I used replicate to create 3 layers so it would cut three times. It worked really well and I didn't have to weed out any of the unwanted piece.
Now here is the bonus! When I set this up on my dining table with the tea light underneath it made a really neat shadow design on the ceiling.
Isn't that just too cool?!
