Each year our Soroptimist club votes in a new board of directors. There are 10 positions and I've held most of the them in the time I've been a member.
At installation the incoming president picks a theme for the decorations and this year she has expressed that she wants a "Jungle" theme.
Many of us will be wearing animal print clothing of some kind or another and we'll have a fun time I'm sure.
I like to give each of the incoming board members a little gift to show my appreciation for their dedication to our club so when I found these jungle animal boxes over at www.myscrapchick.com they were a perfect match. The files are only $2.00 each and well worth the money in my book.
There were only 6 animals so I made doubles of all but the Giraffe which will go to the president. I made a few small changes to them but we all do that right!? The lion's nose made him look more like a bird than a lion so I changed his nose and added some whiskers. To keep them a little less "childish" I didn't use polka dot papers staying with solid colors. They are all still totally adorable.
I've included close up's of each one front and back. Remember you can click on the picture to view it full size.
I made the Tiger with Tangerine Tango, Black, White and Pink
The Lion is made with brown sugar, crushed curry, white, black and pink
The Elephant is made using Basic Gray, Pink
The Zebra uses Black, White, Pink
The Hippo uses Slate Gray, White, Pink
The Giraffe uses Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Black, white. I used the square lattice embossing folder to give the top notch and ears a little texture.
Enjoy! Let me hear from you.
