I saw a post on the Silhouette Blog not too long ago where a mobile was made using clouds, raindrops and butterflies.
As I'm always on the lookout for centerpiece ideas I picked up on this one and re-vamped it to work for me. Since I have no way to hang a mobile I put the mobile onto 1/8" dowels stuck into a piece of 2x4 that I painted blue.
I think they're cute. It was a little tedious to make so many of those little pieces to attach to the string but in the end I'm happy with the result.
I used the 3D Cocktail Umbrella image and resized it as large as I could on a 12x12 piece of card stock. I then made triangle shapes and cut them from one sided patterned paper.
I cut the blocks 3.5" square from a 2x4 and spray painted them blue. I used a couple of designs to make the card that went on top of the block.
The clouds are from the image 3D cloud, the raindrops from an image called Sun Cloud and Rain and I can't remember which butterfly image I used but I'm sure you could find one that works. Three pieces glued together make each piece three dimensional.
Don't forget you can see the images full size just by clicking on them. I hope you like this and if you do leave a comment. I love to hear back from my readers.
Have a blessed day,
Kate
