I missed getting something made to share in the Silhouette Challenge school theme. I was just too busy to get it together. That doesn't mean I won't be making school themed items.
I have a friend who works the library and teaches classes at a school here in town. Her library got moved into a new space over the summer and she really likes the space but it needs a few things. I haven't been over to see the space yet but I took a chance and made a few things I think she'll be able to put to use.
First up I made a small 8.5 x 11 poster using the Read Book Always Better Phrase image #65165 by Kolette Hall. It's designed to be cut out but I just filled in the lettering with colors and patterns, added a frame and printed it out on the Printable Cotton Canvas. This canvas has a sticky back so it can be peeled off and stuck to something. Or just leave the backing on and hang it somewhere.
Next, I used 3D Alphabet Shadow Boxes by Marji Roy to make the letters READ that could be hung on a wall or set on a shelf. I used various bright colors with matching DSP from Stampin' Up! to make these. I did not alter them in any way just made them as they were designed. Finished they are about 5.5 inches square.
Lastly, at least for today, I made a poster using Falling Back Into School Tree & Phrase by Lori Whitlock item # 46560. This one I resized so it would make a nice size poster. I made it as big as I could on 12 x 12 cardstock. The poster finished is approximately 18" wide by 30" tall.
I used the back side of the Festive Designer Craft Paper from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog and sponged it with Pumpkin and Crushed Curry inks then attached the lettering and the tree. The leaves are cut from Mossy Meadow, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry card stock and then embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder.
While I am writing this I am busy cutting out the pieces needed to make note cards that I will be selling to raise money for my Soroptimist group.
They are for sale, $12.00 per package of four. Proceeds go to the club. If you want to order some you can private message me and I will arrange to ship them to you.
Thanks for stopping by. Leave me a comment I love to hear from you.
