Welcome to the July Silhouette Challenges Blog Challenge! This month the challenge is to use the Print & Cut option in your Silhouette. I hope our Design Team projects will inspire you to participate in our challenge! We would LOVE to see what you create using the oh so easy print and cut option.
I must confess I haven't used this option very much but after using it for my Silhouette Challenges Design Team inspiration I think I will find myself using it more. After all, I do have 634 Print & Cut images in my library!
Looking through the images I have collected so far my eye rested on the Vintage Roses image #17508 by Sophie Gallo This is a very intricate and beautiful design. I liked how it cut out all the little inside pieces not just around the outside because it gives it so much more definition.
I used the design to make a gift box with a matching card. The gift box is the 3D Hexagon Box with Hinged Lid design #58044 by Jamie Cripps Jamie provides the mats for cutting designed papers in her cut file so I adjusted them so they were really close together then resized and added the Vintage Roses design over them. I let the design go outside of the lines. I then printed the design onto Whisper White card stock, put it in the Silhouette and cut out the panels. That way when I placed them on the sections of the box the design matched edge to edge.
Next I used the actual print & cut option to cut out two of the Vintage Rose design that had been resized to fit the top of the box and the front of an A2 card. I did add a couple of butterflies made using the Beautiful Wings Emboslit die from Stampin' Up!. The sentiment is from the hostess set in the new catalog Bloom With Hope.
I really like the results. I hope you do too. Be sure to check out what the other team members have to share for inspiration and then share what you make with us. We really want to see what you make!
